POSITION: Title 1 / Bilingual Aide (8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)

WAGE:

  • $10.41 - $12.71 per hour Per LESPA Master Agreement 2018 - 2021.

STARTING DATE:

  • September 3, 2019

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read and write. High School Diploma / GED (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
  • Prior experience with working academically with students needing additional support.
  • Meets Highly Qualified Standards.
  • Experience with student intervention.
  • Assist in implementing the WIDA assessment in the Spring.
  • Pass the WIDA assessment modules.
  • Implement provided ELA mini-lessons in English with the use of Spanish as needed.
  • Help reinforce new English Eureka Math vocabulary.
  • Translation for parents and school personnel.
  • Successful experience working with kindergarten and/or first grade students.
  • General computer knowledge.
  • Evidence of good and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills with staff and students.
  • This position is 4.0 hours as a classroom paraprofessional and 2.5 hours as a bilingual paraprofessional.
  • Hours vary within the school day (8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in Early Childhood or Childhood Development or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish preferred.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and program.
  • Basic computer and technology skills necessary.
  • Prior experience working with preschool children preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills with staff, students, and parents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma, associate's degree preferred.
  • Ability to use Windows 7.
  • Ability to perform at an administrative level and general knowledge of office equipment.
  • Proficient in Word, Publisher, Excel, Outlook.
  • Evidence of appropriate verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Displays a positive attitude and puts customer service first.
  • Ability to manage library budget and associated accounts.
  • Knowledge of Renaissance Learning.
  • Knowledge of Follett Software: Circulation Plus and Catalog Plus, or strong ability to learn.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with teachers / staff / parents.
  • Desire to work with children.
