Lawton Hall of Fame

The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to recognize alumni and other individuals associated with the Lawton Community Schools for their achievements and contributions to the District and to society. Lawton Community Schools is pleased to announce the 2019 Hall of Fame class. The LCS Hall of Fame celebrates our history by recognizing individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to our schools or have demonstrated outstanding achievement in athletics, academics, career or community work. This year’s inductees are:

  • David Cornish – U.S. Army Bronze Star for Valor, president of local bank, member of Village Council, Lions Club, LCS football scoreboard controller.
  • Marion June McCauslin – Active community volunteer, first woman to join the Lawton Lions Club, avid supporter of LCS activities.
  • Chancy Lewis – Long-time editor of local newspaper (The Leader), Village Park named on Mr. Lewis' honor.
  • Chris Juszczyk - Physical Education Teacher, coach, and mentor at LCS since 1989, WMU Woman of the Year (1992), MAHPERD Physical Education Teacher of the Year (2010), Education Hero (2016), first inductee who is also a current employee.

All inductees and / or their family representatives will be inducted on Friday, January 25. A reception at 6:45 p.m. will be held in Lawton High School's cafeteria followed by the induction ceremony between the girls' and boys' basketball games.

The entire community is encouraged to attend these events and honor these outstanding Blue Devils.
