Lawton lifters came out and represented this Saturday in Edwardsburg!  Varsity women (Ashley Jewell, Natalie Martinez, Kristin Conner, Veronica Holden, Lacie Huggins, Emma Stephayn, Amari Buentello, Jesse Whiting, and Amaya Taylor) combined to earn a strong 3rd place team finish against the toughest competition they’ve faced (23 schools).  Stephayn (1st place, 700 lbs. total), Whiting (2nd place, 410 lbs. total) and Taylor (3rd place, 410 lbs. total) all took home medals and Buentello was the newest member to the state qualified group of ladies.  Great job!  The guys came out lifting on all cylinders as well!  After a hard fought battle against a tough Three Rivers team the Lawton Varsity Men’s team came away with a strong 2nd place finish out of the 22 teams that were there.  Some amazing personal bests were set by all of the guys, including some 50+ lbs. total jumps!  VanOrman (1st place), Thomason (2nd place), Lull (2nd place), Mann (1st place), Mata (1st place), and Brown (3rd place) lead the team in points earned.  The latest male state qualifiers were Thomason, Brown, and Maynard (JV).  Lawton Powerlifting now has 23 lifters that have qualified for the state meet!

Attention all lifters:  The last regional qualifier at Shepherd High School is this Saturday, February 25th and we need to have 40+ registered in order to go.  Get all forms and money to Coach Nycum by Wednesday.

Congratulations to the Varsity Competitive Cheer Team for their second place finish at district finals Friday night.  They will advance to regionals at Caledonia High School on Saturday.  In addition, they also broke TWO SCHOOL RECORDS at districts, scoring the school's record highest round 1 and round 2 scores ever!
