7 Athletes Compete in 7 Events at State Finals!!!

The boys and girls that qualified for the D3 MHSAA State Finals competed this past weekend (June 4) in Comstock Park for the right to be all-state. Of the 7 that travelled to the state finals, 5 came away with all-state honors!!! A finish in the top 8 in your event constitutes an all-state classification. Results are below or you can click this link to see the entire meet results.

  • Girls
    • 100m - Natalie Martinez - DNF
    • 200m - Natalie Martines - finished 4th with a time of 26.13 - ALL STATE!!!
    • 300m Low Hurdles - Clare Lycan - finished 9th with a time of 48.31
    • 800m - Katelyn Welch - finished 30th with a time of 2:41.63
    • 4x100 Relay - Felisha Garcia, Clare Lycan, Kristin Oxley, Natalie Martinez - finished 4th with a new school record time of 50.86 - ALL STATE!!!
    • 4x400 Relay - Natalie Martinez, Katelyn Welch, Megan Dopheide, Clare Lycan - finished 22nd with a time of 4:21.04
  • Boys
    • 400m - Demetrius Cannon - finished 8th with a time of 51.15 - ALL STATE!!!

Track banquet set for Wednesday, June 8

The 2016 track season is quickly coming to a close with the MHSAA State Finals taking place on Saturday, June 4th in Comstock Park. Good luck to all the participants going. Our track banquet will be held on Wednesday, June 8th in the high school cafeteria at 5:30 p.m. The following is a list of what each grade level is responsible for bringing:

  • Seniors - dessert
  • Juniors - drinks
  • Sophomores - salad of any kind
  • Freshmen - dessert
  • Main dish - pulled pork
