We strive to bring in close relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth with community involvement.

• Meetings
  • Once per month
  • 1st Tuesday of each month in the Elementary School Library
  • 6:30 p.m.
  • All are welcome, come as you are
  • Agenda includes financial report, board meeting notes, teacher requests, planning for any events, etc.

  • Box Tops For Education ~ There is a collection bin in the lobby of the elementary adjacent to the office. Collected Box Tops earn the elementary $.10 per top collected. They are found on many of the every day products you may use. Lists are available below:

  • Goodsearch.com ~ It's easy to participate - If you do any shopping on line or search the internet you can help earn $$$ for our school! Just log onto the Goodsearch website and make it your home page, select Lawton Elementary (MI) as your non-profit to collect money for, and each time you do an internet search you earn money for school.
  • Goodshop.com ~ If you do any on line shopping and purchase thru this site they will offer coupons as well as make an average donation of 3 - 4% of your total spent towards the school. Log on to see a full list of participating stores (over 1,000).
  • Schwan's Cares Program ~ Create your online order, right from our campaign page, or order by phone at 1-855-870-7208.This includes existing Schwan's customers on a designated delivery route. Products are delivered directly to your home at the time specified at checkout. The method of payment may be changed at the door - check, cash, EBT, credit or debit cards are accepted. If you're not home, Schwans will leave the items in a protected freezer bag at no extra cost. Supporters shop at Schwans.com and get to enjoy over 350 easy to prepare frozen foods, and the Elementary earns 20% of the orders total purchase during the 45-day campaign and 5% the rest of the year! During the campaign, supporters can also buy a $25 eGift Card and the elementary will receive 40%.
  • SpartanNash Program ~ Send in your D&W of Family Fare (other participating stores) receipts, when our school collects receipts adding up to $150,000 Lawton Elementary will receive $1,000.

  • PTO utilizes fund to help support the school and students with:
    • Carnival in the spring for all elementary students and younger siblings
      • Snow cones, popcorn
      • Inflatables, hayride
      • Dunk tank, Smokehouse, Rock wall & Photo booth (various years).
    • Teacher needs
      • Large rug for students for Kindergarten class.
      • Kidney shaped learning table for 3rd grade room.
      • Learning pads for testing / teaching for classes.
      • New chairs for learning lab.
    • Others
      • After prom bash funds
      • Kalamazoo Symphony
      • I-Pads, Apple TV's, Covers, Keyboards, and support materials
      • Playground equipment
      • Field Trips
      • Emergency Radios
      • Playground Bullhorns
      • Incentive Days
      • T-Shirts (Annually)
      • Adding new books to the library (replacing a grant previously received from the Rotary)
      • Updating classroom libraries with new books.
