Home of the Blue Devils
Lawton High School is a 9th-12th grade building serving approximately 350 students. Lawton is a rural Southwest Michigan community located in the heart of grape country. Our students are provided big school opportunities with small school attention focusing on career and college readiness. Our staff provide a challenging academic culture while reinforcing positive school values of respect, responsibility and safety.
Beyond the classroom, Lawton High School offers a wide variety of activities including 15 varsity sports that challenge students physically to clubs and organizations that challenge them mentally. We are one of only a few schools in Van Buren County that have implemented a STEM curriculum through PLTW (Project Lead the Way). We partner with the Van Buren Technology Center to provide career and Early College opportunities for our Juniors and Seniors. The staff at Lawton High School strive to ensure every student receives a quality education building the foundation for their future.

Notice of Right to Request Personal Curriculum
To be eligible for a high school diploma, Michigan students are required to complete the requirements of the Michigan Merit Curriculum (MMC). Schools are allowed, however, to modify the MMC based on the individual learning needs of each student. These modifications are typically known as a “personal curriculum” (PC). Schools must follow certain guidelines when developing a PC. When those guidelines are met, students with a PC are eligible for a high school diploma.

We would also like to make you aware that a failed class results in the student athlete not being able to participate in any fall sport for 10% of the season. If a student makes up a credit in summer school or credit recovery before the start of the next season, they will not have to sit out any contests. Two (2) failed classes would make the student athlete ineligible for the fall season.
